Coronavirus has changed retail bankruptcy and left landlords in a lurch

One of New York City’s iconic local retailers filed for Chapter 11 in mid-March, but it wasn’t until a couple of weeks ago that the company, Modell’s Sporting Goods, made an unusual request to the bankruptcy judge.
