Investment giant wants to boot stabilized tenants from George Washington Hotel

Investment giant AllianceBernstein is suing to kick two rent stabilized tenants out of the George Washington Hotel. The justification: they are allegedly hoarders, and “clutter, odors and extermination issues” make it harder to rent out nearby rooms. The company bought the ground lease on the historic hotel at 23 Lexington Avenue for $100 million in 2016. Rooms now rent for up to $359 per night, the New York Post reported.
