Group of landlords lobs another lawsuit challenging new rent law

A group of landlords has filed another lawsuit challenging New York’s new rent law, alleging that the measure is unconstitutional. The complaint reiterates claims made by an earlier lawsuit filed by the Rent Stabilization Association and the Community Housing Improvement Program. Like that lawsuit, this complaint claims the Housing Stability and Tenant Protection Act of 2019 violates the Fifth Amendment’s “Takings Clause” and the Fourteenth Amendment’s “Due Process Clause.” The lawsuit further alleges that the
